The Writer
The first play that I co-wrote was with my friend Zoe when we were both thirteen, titled Murder, She Screamed: Not a Musical. It was a horror comedy about a murderer (played by myself) named Archibald Ankou who spitefully killed anyone who had a normal name. The following year, we wrote the high school prequel The Last Election: A Musical (pictured). In the following years, I continued to write plays and short stories. In 2022, I wrote To Granny’s House, a short bilingual play for Homework Help, an organization that helps low-income elementary school kids in the Powderhorn neighborhood after school with their work and gives them a safe place to play and spend time. My friend Isabella Condo translated half of the lines into Spanish, as many of the children were from Spanish speaking households. My senior year, I wrote The Audience, more details below.
The Audience
My most recent show, which acted as both my senior capstone project as well as my honors thesis. The Audience is a genre-creating look at interactive theatre that plays off the traditional tropes of fantasy adventure stories. Audience members are given the ability to change the course of the story by a seemingly all-powerful Narrator as the “real world” person Amara struggles to find her way home. The full play can be found on my YouTube channel. Below is a highlight reel of some of the best moments from the show. (Careful, it includes spoilers!) To the right, is the paper I submitted to the Honors college to complete my thesis.
Highlight reel coming soon! As in, eventually. So check back later!
